Emilia Allison:
My visual work encompasses an extensive breadth of media, including sculptures, charcoals, graphic designs, etc. I especially enjoy combining the written with the visual to build realms that address today’s societal challenges. My best ideas for designing realms are often inspired by the classics. I favor Rembrandt’s sharp, light/dark contrasts and Picasso’s strong, geo-fractured images. However, I appreciate the sociopolitical energy of today’s graphic designers, Jessica Walsh and Saul Bass. My goal is to use my degree to create artworks that provoke, teach, and inspire audiences to do better for one another and for society.
